Series on 1 Corinthians, Part 22 - Cessationism, Continuationism, and Spiritual Gifts

October 02, 2021 | Ralph Finley

Passage: 1 Corinthians 13:8-13

After the Reformation two broad groups of Christians emerged within the Body of Messiah -- on the one hand there are cessationists who believe that the gifts of the holy spirit (charismata) ceased either with the death of the last apostle, or with completion of the canon of scripture, and therefore are not available today. And on the other hand there are continuationists who believe the gifts (charismata) are still available for today and operational. Pastor Ralph Finley examines the doctrines and histories of these often like-minded groups, as he continues his sermon series on 1 Corinthians.
