Beth Zion Women's Retreat

Eleven women of Ahavat Yeshua joined 20 other Messianic Jewish Congregations and 3 Protestant Churches at the Seventh Annual Beth Zion Woman’s Retreat, at the Tuscarora Inn and Conference Center in Mt Bethel, PA, February 5th –7th .  The theme of the Conference was ‘Hope in the One’.  This is described below.

Jean Toth notes that the Panel on which she served was titled, ‘Hope:  The Anchor of the Soul’.  Toth asks, why do we need an anchor?  Think about a person in a boat that is not moving.  An Anchor keeps the boat from drifting away.  Similarly, think about the mountain climber, who uses an anchor to keep from falling.  As the anchor keeps us safe, Hope keeps us safe:  When the battle is darkest, that’s when you can count on Hope.

Here are some thoughts from some of the participants.

One of the things that spoke to me was how G-d works through people and how He brings them through the storms and how it gives other people hope to press through their circumstances.

I had to drop my pride, forget about me and ask G-d to make me holy so I can bless people and do what G-d called me to do.  G-d showed me that hope should not be in yourself or in the situation but in G-d who gives us strength.

G-d's love blows anything that we think love is away.  He loves us because He loves us.  That is just who G-d is. He is love. His love for us does not change even if we become bitter.

Prayer is SO important because it:
- helps to connect us to G-d;
- allows us to give to others by being a tool of G-d used to
identify and address concerns; and
- allows us to give G-d all the glory.
Also, we must not forget, as believers, to praise G-d in the GOOD times as well as the bad (Deut. 8:13-18).

It is not about you and me.  We are here to be as Servants.  G-d uses us to bless other people.  I also learned, that being silent is a great way to allow the Lord to speak to you.  Be silent before the Lord so He can speak to you.
